Ceilings Magnifique!!

Hey all,

Sorry it’s been so long. We’ve been uber busy out at the ol’ ceiling tile plant, and I just haven’t found the time to throw down lately.

Today, I am going to focus on one particular company that manufactures a faux tin tile, known as Ceilings Magnifique. These folks make tiles in several designs, and they still manage to keep cost to the consumer fairly low. I’ve mentioned them once in the past, in the “Just What IS Out There?” post.

I can’t lie to you. A major reason I am posting about this line of tiles is that my company, Ceilume Ceiling Tiles, just bought Ceilings Magnifique. We really do think these tiles are so great that we’ve decided to buy the darned things.

The tiles are made of a very thin plastic, and they can be applied directly to drywall, plywood, or any other flat surface. All you need to install them is a little AC Liquid Nails and a staple gun. The tiles go up easy, as seen here at www.michaelholigan.com. Check out the video, it’s a quick watch, and pretty informative.

A direct mount tile is a great way to snazzy up a drywall ceiling, or to cover ceiling joists when there is no need for access to the above areas later on in the life of the ceiling. You can also apply tiles like this to a wall, as a back splash in your kitchen!

This type of tile is a direct knock off of more traditional stamped tin, steel and copper ceiling tiles. Plastic tiles are cheaper, lighter, and much easier to install. In fact, the only true benefit to going with an actual metal tile is the look, and even this is only true when the metal tile has a shiny metal coating on it. Plastic tiles still cannot really achieve that true copper, gold, or silver shine with paint. They CAN get close, though!

So hey, do me a flavor, and check these folks out! We are just now making the change over, so the tiles won’t be available until about the end of September. However, they are definitely worth the wait!
